I/WE DONT "TRUST" THAT WE WILL BE GIVEN THE INFORMATION IN A TIMELY MANNER
NEEDED IN ORDER TO GO FORWARD WITH OUR SURVEYS
The surveys are an instrument for the MEDIATOR to distinguish where the differences are in perception. The survey lists what might be considered the 'perfectly' aligned Comm Center using the best practices possible. If each participant, no matter when their status, agreed totally with each statement - and all factions from trainer to disptacher to manager agreed there would be no need for any intervention, mediation.
You do not need any information to complete the survey as it is your personal interpretation of your workplace. The information is for my eyes only and I only compile stats to ensure that all challenges are addressed in the mediation. The 'challenges' are areas that the majority have responded that they strongly disagree this is happening in the comm center. If someone does not complete
a survey they will not be heard in the process - well actually I will say that refusing to participate is being 'heard' but not in a productive manner. I hear loud and clear that someone is resistent to this process for their own reasons, silence is often very loud (but again, not helpful).
Of course there is little trust, that is why I have offered a mediation to help your agency work towards positive change. The fact there is no trust in such a vital part of public safety is of concern to me as a professional in the field. I have worked with 9-1-1 centers for over 30 years and I can assure you that your challenges are not new nor entirely unique - it's a culture and in most agencies I have worked with it's a combination of past practices, current practices and ways of being that don't work in a professional setting.
